STICK TO YOUR ROOTS

INDIA- The country of “CULTURE AND TRADITIONS”, “TRADITIONAL FOODS AND FESTIVALS.” AND AS INDIANS WE ALL HAVE THIS DEEPLY ROOTED SOMEWHERE INSIDE OF US.

SEVERAL YEARS AGO INDIA DIDN’T KNOW WHAT CANCER MEANT AND TODAY INDIA IS LEADING IN ALL DEADLY DISEASES.

We live in a generation of technological Advances but also DISEASE advances. Our ancestors lived long healthy lives and we get struck with health problems from a very young age. Disease mortality rates are higher now- Have you ever given a thought to this?

Our ancestors lived with the bare minimum and words like cancer, HIV, EBOLA virus and even diabetes and the deadliest disease were alien to them.

Today we have treatments for cancer, HIV, heart disease, diabetes etc but we also have increased no.of people affected by them. WHY?

There has to be something….

1 main thing is- Our ancestors used to believe in prevention (health care)- WORK HARD, EAT FRESH and LOCAL, SLEEP WELL.

Today we have machines to do our work, We live on packaged foods and more of foreign foods and hardly sleep.

We have doctors and hospitals all around to quickly go and grab medicine once things go wrong (SICK care)

Have you ever thought that if we start giving ut- most importance to our body and health and choose Preventative care- which is way cheaper ( Regular workouts, Eating fresh and local seasonal food and giving the body the rest it deserves and choosing to be happy) we can actually eradicate these deadly disease from our lives as well as our country.

BELOW FIND CANCER STATISTICS OF INDIA AS MENTIONED IN TOI FEB 2014

TIMES OF INDIA FEB 2014: “With a million new cases being reported every year, cancer seems to be tightening its grip on India. Experts say the incidence of the killer disease is expected to rise five-fold by 2025.

According to medical professionals, lung and oral cancers were the most common among men while cervix and breast cancer were striking more and more women.

Annually, nearly 500,000 people die of cancer in India. The WHO said this number is expected to rise to 700,000 by 2015.

“The number of cancer cases in India is increasing every year,” P. K. Julka, head of the oncology department at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, told us.

According to WHO, lung, oral, lip, throat and neck cancers are the most common among men while women suffer more from cervix, breast and ovarian cancers.

“Incidence of cancer has increased in India, especially prostate cancer in elderly men besides kidney, penis and intestine cancer,” Nayan Kumar Mohanty, director, Department of Urology, Saket City Hospital said.

Manju Khemani, Head of the Department, Institute of Obs and Gynae at the hospital, said: “Cervical cancer is the second most common in women worldwide. Unlike some other cancers, it strikes as early as 32-35 years of age.”

PEOPLE IN THE FOREIGN COUNTRIES TODAY ARE TURNING TO NATURAL REMEDIES AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.

IT SHOCKS ME TO SEE THAT WE INDIANS DO NOT WANT TO STAY ROOTED TO OUR CULTURE AND TRADITION.

AYURVEDA PRACTITIONERS AND HOMEOPATHS ARE HARDLY GIVEN ANY IMPORTANCE IN TODAY’S TIME. EATING HOME COOKED TRADITIONAL FOOD FULL OF NUTRIENTS (ROTI WITH GHEE, DAAL, RICE) ARE LOOKED DOWN UPON AND SOUPS AND SALADS WITH OLIVE OIL ARE GIVEN THE CROWN…..

HAVE WE BECOME PLAIN IGNORANT OR JUST STATUS SEEKERS?????
